Shawn B. Ackerman, 44, of Belvidere, passed away suddenly, Sunday, February 28, 2016 in his home. Born July 21, 1971 in Rockford, IL, son of John W. and Jerrie A. (Franks) Ackerman. Shawn was employed as a welder. He enjoyed electronics, computers, and video games.

Shawn is loved and will be missed by his son, Jacob Ackerman of Freeport, IL; daughter, Marissa Ackerman of East Dundee, IL; parents, John Ackerman of Belvidere and Jerrie Ackerman of Rockford; brother, Loren Ackerman of Rockford; sister, Sherry Ackerman- Jefko of Rockford; nephew, Jullian Jefko; aunt and uncle, Pat and Leon Morford of Rockford; mother of his child, Michelle Ackerman.

Celebration of Life will be held at 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, March, 9, 2016 at Anderson Funeral and Cremation Services, 218 W. Hurlbut Ave, Belvidere, IL 61008. Memorial Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m., until the time of sharing. Cremation rites have taken place. Memorials may be directed to the family.
