In Loving Memory of Sharon Reynolds
August 21, 1952 – October 19, 2025
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Sharon Reynolds, who departed this life peacefully on October 19, 2025, after a brave four-year battle with cancer.
Born on August 21, 1952, to Kenneth and Marguerite (Fleming) Wych, Sharon grew up in Garden Prairie, Illinois, and graduated with the Belvidere High School Class of 1970. She went on to enjoy a successful career as an IT manager at Sundstrand—now Collins Aerospace—before retiring in 2013. Sharon was also a member of the Garden Prairie United Church of Christ.
Sharon's greatest joy in life was her family. She was a loving mother to her daughter, Andrea (Andrew) Wilkinson, and a proud grandmother to Analiyah, Axton, Alex, and Adam Wilkinson. She is also survived by her siblings Kathy (Butch) Wesemann, Cindy (Kevin) Carroll, and Dale Wych, along with many beloved nieces and nephews: Kelly Diamond, Mike Wesemann, Billy Schwebke, David Carroll, Michelle Pearson, Lexi Wych, and Matt Wych.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Marguerite; her brothers, Jim Wych and David Sanders; and her niece, Jennie Schwebke.
A lifelong sports enthusiast, Sharon loved playing tennis and cheering on her granddaughter and great-niece during volleyball games. She had a deep appreciation for gardening, shown in the beautiful blooms that filled her garden. Sharon also had a passion for travel, often making cherished memories with her closest friends and family. Her heart was especially open to animals in need, and she actively supported pet rescues throughout her life. She also found joy in supporting local theater and music, always present in the community she loved.
Sharon will be remembered for her compassion, generosity, and unwavering devotion to those she loved. She had a rare gift for bringing people together and making everyone feel valued. Her kindness and selflessness touched all who knew her, and her legacy of love, unity, and joy will live on in the lives she leaves behind.
A visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, October 24, 2025, at Anderson Funeral and Cremation Services, 218 W Hurlbut Ave., Belvidere, IL 61008. A private burial will take place at a later date at the Garden Prairie Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Community Pet Rescue in Sharon's honor. Condolences and memories may be shared at www.andersonfcs.com.
Rest in peace, Sharon. Your light will forever shine in our hearts.
