Sharon Lee Elizabeth Hyland, 76, of Rockford, IL passed away peacefully Thursday, August 2, 2018 at Lincolnshire Place.  Sharon was born June 16, 1942 in Belvidere, Il the daughter of William and Josephine (Huddlestun) Garrigan.  She graduated from Belvidere High School and on January 30, 1965 she married Robert Hyland at St. James Church in Belvidere.  Sharon was the Matriarch of the family.  She made her spiritual home at Freedom Through the Word Church in Rockford.  Sharon enjoyed arranging large gatherings for family and friends.  She always made enough food for an army.  She never missed an opportunity to send a card or somehow recognize special occasions for those under her protective wings.  She was in her glory celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary surrounded by all her family and friends.

Sharon is loved and will be missed by her husband, Bob; children, Julie (Terry) Willis, Dr. Cathy (Rob) Maculan, Rob (Gretchen) Hyland, Betsy (Todd) Muehleip; brothers and sister, William (Marsha) Garrigan, Dr. George "Bud" (Susan) Garrigan, Sally Garrigan; grandchildren, Chris (Codelyn) Willis, Steve Willis, Elle Maculan, Peter Maculan, Adam Hyland, Colton Muehleip; special nieces, Karen Buelow, Ann Irwin and special nephew Jerry (Kenalyn) Hyland; special friend, Mary Lee Jones.  Sharon is preceded in death by her parents; twin sister, Sandra Levey; brother in-law Gale Levey; sister, Patricia Whitemore and special friends, Josie Hughes and Marlys Goodin.

Memorial Gathering will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at Anderson Funeral and Cremation Services, 218 W. Hurlbut Avenue, Belvidere, IL.  Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 15, 2018 at the funeral home with Rev. Jack Wilcox and Rev.
