Scott Anthony Hughes, 42, of Steward, formerly of Belvidere, died Monday, May 11, 2009 in his home following a sudden illness. He was born April 13, 1967 in Belvidere, the son of Charles and Bonnie Bodmer and Phillip C. Hughes. He was a lifelong Belvidere resident. Scott attended Belvidere Schools and received his GED. Scott was a Union Carpenter. He is survived by his mother and step-father, Bonnie and Charles Bodmer, Steward, IL; his father, Phillip C. Hughes, Florida; daughter, Ashli Rae Hughes, a granddaughter, Addison Rae Hughes, both of Arkansas; daughters, Brittani Hughes and Paige Hughes both of Belvidere; three sisters, Jolene (Jake) Wells, California; Kellie (Marv) Levan, Steward; and Kim Hughes, Belvidere; a brother, Jon (Dana) Hughes, Rochelle, IL; niece, Zayrian Richards; three nephews, David Low, Zavyn Richards, and Mateo Hughes and grandmother, Betty Brazee, Rochelle. He was preceded in death by maternal and paternal grandparents and his greatest love of his life and faithful friend, his dog, "CoCo".
