Sarah E. Wells, 27, of Belvidere, IL, passed away suddenly, Wednesday evening, January 17, 2018 in Union, IL. She was born December 28, 1990 in Rockford, IL, the daughter of William and Lora (Schwantes) Hoffman. Sarah graduated from Belvidere North High School, and went on to graduate from Rockford Career College with an Associate's Degree as a Certified Veterinary Technician. She married Brandon Wells on October 25, 2014 at First United Methodist Church, Belvidere. Sarah was employed by Randall Road Animal Hospital in Crystal Lake. She made her spiritual home at First United Methodist Church, where she helped with the children's ministry. Sarah enjoyed going to drag races at Byron with her dad, and shooting guns with her dad, husband, and Uncle Dave. She loved the Chicago Cubs, and listened to all kinds of music. Sarah liked Harry Potter, and had a passion for animals. She was a free spirit who wasn't afraid to be herself.
Sarah is loved and missed by her husband, Brandon; daughter, Riley; parents, William and Lora Hoffman; sister, Megan (Kyle Spradling) Hoffman; mother-in-law, Terri Glass; brothers-in-law, Zak Leach and Michael Glass; special cousins, Hank and Rachel Knaup; numerous aunts, uncles, friends, and a host of extended family. She was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents.
A memorial visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at First United Methodist Church, 610 Bonus Ave, Belvidere, IL, 61008. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, January 25, 2018 at First United Methodist Church, 610 Bonus Ave, Belvidere, IL 61008 with Rev. Monty Fox officiating. Cremation rites have been accorded. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family for a memorial to be established at a later date.
