Sandra M. Baxter, 90, CHERRY VALLEY - Sandra M. Baxter, 90, of Cherry Valley, IL passed away peacefully on October 9, 2025. Sandra was born April 6, 1935, in Winnebago Co., IL, to H. Vincent and Winnefred (Lindgren) Baxter. She graduated from East High School, Class of 1953. Sandra married Donald Baxter on May 9, 1953. She was the Post Master for Cherry Valley, Illinois for 29 years with 32 total years of service. Sandra enjoyed volunteering at her church (Cherry Valley United Methodist) and Cherry Valley Historical Society. She was election judge for 15 years and was Lifescape Super Senior Award Nominee in 2004. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, great grandchildren and her animals and relaxing at her camper on Lake Petenwell. The family would like to thank Bickford of Rockford and Northern Illinois Hospice Assoc. for their care.

She is deeply loved and will be greatly missed by her daughter; Dianna (Dennis) Lester, sister-in-laws; Patricia Baxter and Gayle Popham; numerous grandchildren; great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Donald ; and sons; Brian, Bradley, and Brent; and brothers; Wayne, Ross and Gary.

Visitation will begin at 10 a.m., Monday, October 20, at Anderson Funeral and Cremation Services, 218 W. Hurlbut Ave., Belvidere, IL 61008, with a funeral service at 11 a.m. Burial to follow at Flora Cemetery. Pastor Mark Harkness will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Cherry Valley Methodist Church.
