Sandra L. Anderson, 66, of Belvidere, died Sunday, May 23, 2010 in her home following a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on June 4, 1943 in California, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Max and Pauline (Sterback) Kuehnert. Sandra married Gary C. Anderson in Crystal Lake, Illinois on December 18, 1965. She was employed as a Teacher for Immanuel Lutheran School for many years. She later taught in District 205's Early Childhood Program. Sandra was an active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church which included the church's gardening club and a member of the sanctuary staff. She was also a member of the Illinois Retired Teacher's Association. Sandra was a volunteer for the Hooved Animal Humane Society. She is a graduate of Crystal Lake Central High School, class of 1961 and Northern Illinois University, class of 1965. Sandra is survived by her husband, Gary, of Belvidere; two sons, Clare (Tracy) Anderson, Cary, Illinois and Mark Anderson, of Denver, Colorado; two granddaughters, Emily and Abby Anderson; of Cary, Illinois; two sisters, Kris (Doug) Brady, and Virginia Boss; two brothers, Kurt (Mary) Kuehnert and Robert Kuehnert; and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents.
