Samuel Emanuel Stephens passed away on September 25, 2022 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Sam joins his sister, Stephanie Stephens, who passed earlier this year.  He leaves behind a son, Stefan Stephens; two sisters, Alexcia Stephens, and Lovelle Stephens; his father, Walter Stephens, and many other family members. Sam was born in Chapelton, Jamaica, on October 14, 1969, and eventually joined his mother, Edith Stephens, in America at the age of 14. They resided in Belvidere, Illinois where Sam attended Belvidere High School. Sam enjoyed many successes, including achieving and holding many track & field records at BHS. Upon graduation, Sam went off to Arizona State University to join their track & field team and majored in business management. After college, Sam started his career as the Belvidere Advance Auto Parts Manager and moved his way up to Regional Manager of the Milwaukee, Wisconsin area. While in Milwaukee, he met Tracey Morales-Stephens, who he would come to spend the rest of his life with. Early in his life after college, Sam suffered battles with brain tumors, cancer, and heart problems. Sam was strong and dedicated to beating them but as time moved on, they took a toll on him. Sam was loved and will be missed. May his soul rest in peace.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 8 ^th , 2022 at 11:00 AM at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church located at 217 East Hulburt Ave, Belvidere, IL, followed by a burial at Belvidere Cemetery. Father Randy Wakitsch will officiate.
