Sally Ann Paugels, 83, of Rockford, IL , died peacefully October 13, 2025, in Belvidere, IL. Born September 19, 1942, in Belvidere , IL, daughter to Kenneth and Evelyn (Boettcher) Richardson. She graduated high school and attended Rock Valley College. She married her sweetheart, Dennis Paugels at Immanuel Lutheran Church, May 10, 1986 and was married for 39 years. Sally worked for the state of Illinois as a secretary in Rockford. She was a lifelong member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and a member of the Ladies Guild. She loved to crochet, go on joy rides with her husband and loved to listen to country music.
Sally will be dearly missed by her husband, Dennis; daughter, Jan Renkas; son Jay (Elizabeth) Johnson; multiple grandkids and great- grandkids; and her pet dog, Pepper.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Evelyn; and son in-law, Joe Renkas.
A memorial visitation will be at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, October 23, 2025 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 1045 Belvidere Rd., Belvidere, IL 61008.
