Ruth E. Stroup, 87, of Belvidere, died Thursday, July 19, 2007 in O. S. F. St. Anthony Medical Center following a lengthy illness. Born November 27, 1919 in Rock County, Wisconsin, the daughter of Chester and Ruth (Mayo) Udell. She married Paul E. Stroup in Boone Steel, South Dakota on May 29, 1949. He died in 1994. Ruth is survived by her four children, Paula (Steve) Crone; Sheila Plooster; Paul Stroup and James Peschl and two brothers, Thomas and Billy Udell. In addition to her husband she is preceded in death by her parents and sister, Joyce Fox.
