Ruth E. Pitts, 95, of Iron River, MI and formerly of Belvidere, IL died peacefully, Thursday morning September 26, 2013 in the home of her daughter and son-in-law, where she had resided for the past year. Ruth was born August 8, 1918 in Belvidere, IL the daughter of Rudolph and Gullie (Bergman) Carlson. She married George H. Pitts on May 2, 1947 in Belvidere, IL. Ruth was a member of Evangelical Covenant Church where she was very active.Ruth is loved and will be missed by her daughter Carolyn (Mark) Lindahl of Iron River, MI; daughter in-law Lynne Pitts of Ankeny, IA; grandchildren Katie (Rev. Jamie Milton) Lindahl of Mineral Ridge, OH, Matt (Beth) Lindahl of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, Tim Lindahl of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, Lindsey (Micah) Juedes of Memphis, TN, Sarah (Luke) Pan of Milwaukee, WI; great-grandchildren Harper Lindahl Milton, Bailey Lindahl, Jamin Juedes. Ruth is preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Leonard Carlson and son Howard Pitts.

Memorials in Ruth's name can be given to the Belvidere Evangelical Covenant Church or the Gideons International.
