Ruth "Rosebud" McCoy, 81, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 31, 2015 in her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born March 8, 1934 in Sneedsville, TN, to Martin and Mable Collins. She married Paul J. McCoy on July 5, 1952 in Newport, TN. They moved to Belvidere, IL in 1953. Ruth was a homemaker, and loved to garden, spend time with family. She loved watching NASCAR racing and going to the Rockford Speedway. Ruth loved to cook as well.

She is survived by her husband, Paul, her children, Billy (Pat) McCoy of Belvidere, Shirley Shott of Troy, IL, Nancy (Rick) Vettore of Belvidere; grandchildren, Brett (Cori) McCoy of Belvidere, Michelle (Jeff) Huggins of Troy, IL, Amanda Shott of Troy, IL, Brandon (Erin) Shott of Poplar Grove, Courtney Vettore of Belvidere; great-grandchildren, Taylor and Cheyenne McCoy, Angie, Zander, Madison, Tyler and Chase Huggins,  Natalie and Hunter Shott; brother, James (Dorothy) Collins, and several nieces and nephews. Ruth is preceded in death by her parents, 2 daughters, Linda and Sharon, 3 sisters, and 2 brothers.

Funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m., Friday, June 5, 2015 at Anderson Funeral and Cremation Services, 218 W. Hurlbut Ave, Belvidere, IL, with Chaplain Dominic DiGangi of HOPE Hospice officiating. Visitation will be held from 5-8:00 p.m., Thursday, June 4, 2015 at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Shattuck Grove Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the family for a memorial to be established at a later date.
