Ruth L. Kiefer, 94, of Belvidere, IL, died peacefully in Rockford, IL, February 16, 2023. She was born August 30, 1928 in Hidalgo, IL, daughter to Logan and Elsie (Hays) Pippin. She graduated high school in Marengo, IL, and had a career as a Bank Teller. She worked at Pacemaker groceries during the year of the Belvidere tornado and was married to Maurice Kiefer, Jr., April 23, 1949 in Marengo, IL. She attended St. James Church and loved to quilt. She also loved her cats!

She is loved and will be missed by her son, Bill Kiefer and daughter, Susan Kiefer.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Maurice; parents; sister, Shirley Hensel; and brother, Albert Pippin.

Services will be private. Burial is at St. James Cemetery in Belvidere.
