Ruth Ann Abelson, 80, of Rockford, died at 10:40 P.M. Saturday, Aapril 11, 2009, in OSF St. Anthony Medical Center. Ruth was born in Ironwood, MI, on June 24, 1928, the daughter of Walter and Elina Maki Hendrickson. She married Gust Abelson in 1946 in Hurley, WI. Ruth was a member of Zion Lutheran Church of Ironwood.Survivors include her husband, Gust; daughter Carol (David) Engstrom of Belvidere; son Dennis (Kathy) Abelson of Dexter, MO; sister Arlene Bjorne; and brothers Kenneth, Dale, and Robbie Hendrickson; several grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
