Ruby Stojan's love of life didn't come to an end with her death. She was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Ruby passed away peacefully in her sleep on January 31, 2022 at the age of 80. She battled with congestive heart failure, but her tough personality allowed her to continually beat the odds against her. She was blessed to be surrounded by loved ones who will continue to honor her by remembering all the good times they shared with her.

Ruby was born to Nema Johnson and Riley W. Carver on November 20, 1941 in Tennessee. Ruby had 5 siblings: Everett, Una, Shirley, Iona, and Dare. She is preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Everett and sister, Una. Ruby has an extended family in both Illinois and Tennessee who she loved and cherished dearly.

Ruby retired from the IL Bell phone company. Her outstanding work ethic was instilled onto her daughters. Ruby was a fierce role model to all who knew her. Her favorite hobby was going to garage sales with her family. Ruby enjoyed baking strawberry rhubarb pies and her banana pudding was often requested. Her southern cooking skills were superb and enjoyed by all.

Ruby is survived by her husband, Michael Stojan. They were married on February 11, 1993. Ruby's first daughter, Angie, is married to Jamie and has two daughters: Carlee and Ivy Lauderdale. Jill is her second daughter, who is married to Mark. They have three children: Nick, Macy, and Vinny Smith.

No funeral services are planned, but a celebration of life may be held in the spring.
