Rosemary Hilda Morrison died September 8, 2011 at Rosewood Care Center in Rockford. She was born August 6, 1927 in Rockford, the only child of Inga (Bloom) and Haldan Johnson. Rosemary attended Hallstrom and Lincoln Schools and graduated from East High School in 1945. She completed a secretarial program at Rockford School of Business. She lived and worked for a year in Hollywood, CA. In Rockford she worked at Free Sewing Machine Co., Mechanics Universal Joint, and Illinois Water Treatment Co. She married Wallace Morrison on December 21, 1963. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi and First Presbyterian Church and a past member of Rockford Country Club. Rosemary enjoyed traveling the United States and other countries. Her favorite memories included a three-week safari trip in Africa, visiting her relatives in Sweden and Wally's relatives in Scotland. She also enjoyed volunteering at Midway Museum Center. Preceded by parents, husband, step-daughter and husband, Catherine "Kit" and Keith E. Walker. Survived by step-son Scott Morrison of Woodruff, WI; step-grandchildren: Kristi (Jim) Franseen of Caledonia, IL, S. Scott (Alison) Walker of Gainesville, FL, Kimberly (Keith) McGuigan of Lake-in-the-Hills, Kara (John) Hoblick of DeLeon Springs, FL, Heather Morrison Jordan, Nathan and Quinten Morrison of Eagle River, WI; Aunt Astrid Bloom of Byron and 9 cousins.Thank you to the caring staffs at Rosewood Care Center and Passages Hospice.
Memorials may be given to First Presbyterian Church or Midway Museum Center.
