Rosemary I. Freeman, 83, of Belvidere, died Tuesday, January 18, 2011 in O.S.F. St. Anthony Medical Center following an extended illness. She was born on June 1, 1927 in Sharon, Wisconsin; the daughter of Vern and Marie (Jurgens) Smith. She worked for various companies including Sundstrand and Arnold Manufacturing. Rosemary was a member of Zion Lutheran Church. She enjoyed cooking and creating deserts and helping other residents at Pearl Place. Rosemary is survived by two daughters, Pam (Robert) Gillis, of Roscoe, Illinois; Gayle (Richard) Keating, of Belvidere, Illinois; seven grandchildren, Tom, Tony, and Thor Fluehr; Heather, Keith and Sean Keating and Jennifer Sanders; twelve great grandchildren; one great great grandchild who's on the way; a sister, Louise Lidbury, Lakeland Florida. She is preceded in death by parents, two daughters, Marybeth Nordeen in infancy and Cheryl Nordeen in 2005.
