Rosella Thornton Dooley, 88, of Belvidere, IL passed away peacefully Thursday evening, January 15, 2015. Rosella was born March 17, 1926 in Belvidere, IL. Daughter of John McCormick and Margaret Prox. She was a graduate of Belvidere High School, Beloit College, and Rockford Cosmetology Academy. Rosella was a Beautician for 50 years with Carlson Beauty Shop. She was a former member of Belvidere Women's Club, VFW, American Legion, Moose Club, American Heart Association, and the American Heart Association. She enjoyed Cooking, gardening, crocheting and knitting.

Rosella is loved and will be missed by her son John (Lynda) Thornton; special friend and family, Anna Past, Larry McCormick, Barbara Sjodin, Judy Meyer. She is preceded in death by her father, John; mother, Margaret; step-mother, Ethel McCormick; spouse's, Raymond Thornton, Edward Dooley; brother, Robert McCormick.
