Rose Marie Launius, 88, of Belvidere, IL, passed away peacefully on July 3, 2025. She was born on July 19, 1936, the daughter of Mary Irene (Mathis) and Avis Leo Carlock.
On April 1, 1955, Rose married the love of her life, Bill Launius. Together, they shared 69 wonderful years of marriage and were blessed with three daughters.
Rose graduated from Zion-Benton High School and devoted her life to her family as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her warmth, creativity, and unwavering faith touched all who knew her.
She had a passion for flower gardening, crafting, and antiquing, and she cherished traveling with her sisters. Rose was a longtime member of Covenant Baptist Church in Marengo and later attended Evangelical Covenant Church in Belvidere. Her faith was the foundation of her life and a source of strength to those around her.
Rose will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the joy of knowing her.
She is survived by her daughters, Pam (Larry) Lee, Teresa Wisted, Michele (Dale) Piske; sister Joyce (Bill) Stein; grandchildren, Christopher (Andrea) Tatro, Jeremy Tatro, Jacob (Natalie) Piske, Grant (Alyssa) Piske, and great grandchildren Colton Tatro, and Brynlee Tatro. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Rose is welcomed into heaven by her husband, Bill Launius; parents Avis and Irene Carlock; brothers, Gerald Carlock, Bruce Carlock, Sisters, Janice Mitchell and Bonnie Middleton.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to OSF Hospice for their care.
There will be a memorial service on Tuesday, July 29th at 4pm in remembrance of Rose and her beloved husband Bill. Visitation will be at 3pm until the time of service at Anderson Funeral Home. Located at 218 W. Hurlbut Ave. Belvidere, IL 61008
