Rosa L. Susong, 108, of Belvidere, Illinois, went to be with the Lord on August 1, 2026. Rosa was born on September 30, 1917, in Greene County, Tennessee, to her mother, Codie Solomon.

She married John Jones, and together they were blessed with six children. Rosa was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who dedicated her life to her family. She worked in the kitchen at Highland Hospital in Belvidere. Following John's passing, Rosa married R. Nick Susong. They shared 24 years of Marriage. Rosa had a gift for making a house feel like home. She was an excellent cook and talented with canning and sewing. Rosa was a consistent farm help, raising cattle, hogs, and chickens. Her family raised the food they ate and gardened their produce.

Rosa is survived by her children, Cecil (Arlene) Jones, Kyle (Fay) Jones, Jerry (Pat) Jones, numerous step-children, as well as numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren and extended family she loved dearly.

She is welcomed into heaven by her sons, Donald Jones, and Jimmy Jones, daughter, Mary LaBuy, late husbands, John Jones, and R. Nick Susong, and her parents.

Rosa’s visitation will be Saturday, August 15th at 10am at Anderson Funeral Home. Located at 218 W. Hurlbut Ave. Belvidere, IL 61008. Funeral service to follow at 11am. Burial will be at Shattuck’s grove Cemetery.
