Ronald E. Walker, 70, of Belvidere, died Thursday, January 2, 2014 in his home. He was born May 2, 1943 in Park Falls, Wisconsin; the son of Glenn M. and Alba M. (Moore) Walker. Ron graduated from Butternut (WI) High School, Class of 1961. He moved from Wisconsin to Rockford in 1966 then to Belvidere in 1987. Ron married Linda L. Scharp in Rockford on September 17, 1966. He was employed as a maintenance mechanic for R & D Thiel Co. He served his country honorably in the Army during the Vietnam War. Ron attended St. Paul Lutheran Church in Butternut, WI and Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Rockford. He enjoyed his Sunday Morning Breakfast with his family as well as an avid football fan supporting the Green Bay Packers. Three words defined Ron, "True Family Man". Ron is survived by wife, Linda, 2 sons, Glenn (Tina) Walker and Brent (Lisa) Walker, all of Belvidere; 5 grandchildren, Tyler Walker, Jake Walker, Austin Cina, Ethan Walker, Addison Walker; a sister, Marilyn (Allen) Lentz, 3 sisters-in-law, Carol Walker, Marion Walker, Marilyn Walker and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by parents, 2 sisters, Grace Walker, Geraldine Meisbauer; 5 brothers, Gerold and wife, Ruth Walker; Mike and wife, Eileen Walker, Gilbert Walker, Gordon Walker, and Gene Walker.
