Ronald V. Streit, 88, of Belvidere, IL, died peacefully September 20, 2021, in Rockford, IL with family by his side. He was born June 24, 1933, in Harvard, IL, son to Edward and Dorothy (Smith) Streit. He was a high school graduate and went on to do some college courses. Ronnie proudly served our country in the United States military as a Marine and moved to the rank of Sergeant before he was honorably discharged in 1955.Ronald married Patricia Courtade on June 25, 1988, at St. James Church in Belvidere, IL. Ronnie worked for 40 plus years at Arnold Engineering as a supervisor and upon retirement drove a bus at the Keen Age Center for many years. He also delivered newspapers with his wife, Patricia to keep busy. He was a homebody and enjoy planting flowers, trees and anything that would grow and had a big garden for many years and he loved to watch the birds at his many feeders. He was an early riser and early to bed kind of guy and liked to do things in his own way. Patty used to tease him about his quirks and say that there was the right way, the wrong way and the Streit way. He was a member of St. James Church, Moose and VFW. Most who knew him said he was such a sweet, kind person who never said a bad thing about anyone. He will be loved and dearly missed by many.

He is survived by his stepdaughters, Brenda (Dave) Walter, Charlotte (Tom) Deneen and Debby (Fred) Faley; brother, Edward (Lois) Streit; sister-in-law, Darlene Streit; 9 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild on the way; multiple nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Shirley Fidder; grandson, Sam Walter; brother, Donald Streit; and wife Patricia Streit.

A visitation will be at 9:00 to 10:45 a.m., on Tuesday, September 28th, 2021 at Anderson Funeral and Cremation Services, 218 W. Hurlbut Ave., Belvidere, IL 61008. A service will be at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Father Geary will officiate. Burial at Capron Cemetery.
