Ronald A. Sell, 61, of Belvidere, died Wednesday, September 16, 2009 in Swedish-American Hospital – Belvidere following a sudden illness. He was born on March 22, 1948 in Belvidere, the son of Kenneth W. and Virginia "Jean" F. (Witte) Sell. Ron married Mary L. Woodard in Rockford on September 20, 1969. He was employed as a machinist for Sundstrand Corporation for 36 years before retiring. He then worked at Belvidere Cemetery as a groundskeeper. Member of Zion Lutheran Church, the U.A.W. Local 592, the Antique Tractor Association and the Nelson's Coffee Clutch. In his spare time, he enjoyed restoring tractors, boating and horseback riding. He enjoyed the three F's, Food, Friends and Family, especially his grandchildren. Ron graduated from Belvidere High School Class of 1966. He is survived by his wife, Mary, of Belvidere; two daughters, Amy (Matt) Saso, Garden Prairie, Heather (Jared) Wick, Belvidere; four grandchildren, Breanna, Rebecca and Nathan Saso, Evan Wick and another Wick grandchild expected soon; a brother, Donald (Janice) Sell, Belvidere; two sisters, Jane (Alan) Schuessler, Machesney Park, Kristine (Richard) Beever, Belvidere; and seven nephews; his mother-in-law, Dorothy Woodard. Preceded in death by his parents.
