Ronald Riverdahl, 65, of Belvidere, died Saturday morning June 27, 2009 in his home after a short illness. Ronald was born August 2, 1943 in Rockford, Illinois, the son of Barney and Nadine (Carlson) Riverdahl. Ronald was a Belvidere resident the past 30 years and prior to his retirement, worked for Chrysler Corp for 37 years as a journeyman tool and die maker. He graduated form Rockford East High School in 1961; he was a Vietnam Veteran; loved to read; ride motorcycles and was an avid NASCAR fan. Ronald was also a 32nd degree mason and chaplain of the Roscoe Masonic Lodge.Ronald is survived by his wife, Carolyn; brothers, Curt (Shirley) Riverdahl, Gregg (Shari) Riverdahl; sister, Jan (Kurt) Blankenship; numerous nieces and nephews and aunt, Connie Berglund. Ronald is predeceased by his parents and sister, Jill Brown. The family gives a special acknowledgment to Wes Strack for all of his support.Loved by all who knew him, Ronald is now riding in the winds of Heaven.
