Ronald W. Parrett, 70, of Belvidere, IL, passed away March 3, 2018 in Alden Debes Nursing Home. He was born October 3, 1947, the son of Edmund and Mary Parrett. Ronald married the love of his life Cheryl Sandrock on July 24, 1976. He proudly served his country with the United States Air Force including a year in Vietnam. Ronald worked as a Probation Department Administrator for the Winnebago County Court Services for 35 years. He was a member of the Illinois Probation and Court Services Association, 2nd City Barbershop Chorus, as well as a member of First United Methodist Church in Belvidere. Ronald loved going to the movies at the theater, watching Gunsmoke and old westerns, as well as attending the Rockford Symphony and Starlight Theater at Rock Valley College. He enjoyed pizza night on the weekends at Gerry's or Carlyle's, cheering on the Chicago Bears or his "camps" out on the patio with his cigar, beer and country music. Most importantly he loved his boys and family more than anything.
Ronald is loved and will be missed by his wife, Cheryl; sons Brian (Melissa) Parrett, Christopher (Emily) Parrett; granddaughter, Lexington Parrett; siblings, Stephen (Linda) Parrett, Carol Mayo; brother-in -law Ronald Sandrock; sister-in-law, Paulette (Richard) Panish as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 10, 2018 at First United Methodist Church, 610 Bonus Ave, Belvidere, IL with Rev. Monty Fox officiating. A visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. untill 1:45 prior to service at 2:00 p.m. Memorials to the family to establish a memorial at a later date. Cremation rites have been accorded.
