Belvidere, ILRonald D. Johnson, 72, of Belvidere, IL died peacefully Tuesday morning, December 6, 2011 in his home after a lingering illness. Ronald was born April 16, 1939 in Belvidere, IL the son of Charles and Helen (Kingren) Johnson. He married Jeanneraye Anderson in Belvidere on January 5, 1963. Ronald was an iron worker for Local 498 where he was a member for 45 years. He was confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church, and was a lifelong mason with Cherry Valley Lodge 173. Ronald was an avid collector of antique engines and enjoyed restoring old tractors. He was an avid reader and liked to work crossword puzzles, in his younger years Ronald and Jeanneraye enjoyed taking motorcycle trips. Ronald served in the US Army as an aircraft crew chief in Germany; he was discharged on September 30, 1962.Ronald is loved and will be missed by his wife Jeanneraye; sons Chuck (Shannon) Johnson of Belvidere, Craig Johnson of Kingston; daughter Carmen Johnson of Belvidere; grandsons Corey and Alex; brother Gordon Johnson of Belvidere. Ronald is predeceased by his parents; daughter Rhonda Johnson; brother Donald Johnson and sister Margery Paulson.
