Rockford, IllinoisLoving Husband, Father, Grandfather, BrotherRoger L. "Turtle" Osterberg, age 55, of Rockford, Illinois died Monday, January 31, 2005 in his home after a sudden illness. Roger was born in Belvidere, Illinois on October 21, 1949, the son of Kenneth and Shirley (Koplin) Osterberg. He married Connie Rae Maitya on April 27, 1973 in Rockford. Roger farmed in the Boone County area and was a real estate broker, owning his own firm Osterberg and Associates of Rockford, selling mostly farmland. Roger enjoyed trap shooting, in 2000 he won a world trap shooting event in Vandalia, Ohio; he founded and developed Coon Creek Cacklers, which was a 300 acre private hunting club, south of Garden Prairie. Roger had a talent to amuse anyone who would listen with countless interesting stories. He was a member of Pheasants Forever, Ducks Unlimited, Whitetails Unlimited and the N.R.A. His favorite things were spending time with his grandchildren, at home and on vacation, hunting, fishing, cooking especially his famous spaghetti, and playing cards. Roger loved his family.Survivors include his wife, Connie Rae of Rockford; children, Chad (Katie) of Poplar Grove, Katie (C.J.) Clymer of Commerce, MI , Adam (Kelly) of Roscoe, IL and Sarah of Rockford; grandchildren Emily, Lauren, Logan Osterberg, Ezekiel Clymer; brothers, Terry Osterberg, James (Marilyn) Osterberg; sisters, Debbie (Dan) Albrecht, Diane (Dave) Osterberg, all of Garden Prairie; numerous nieces ,nephews, aunts and unclesRoger's parents, brother Scott and Grandparents preceded him in death.
