Roger Allen
Hollembeak
Jan 18, 1942 — Dec 10, 2017
Roger Allen Hollembeak, 75, of Belvidere, IL, died peacefully from liver and kidney failure on December 10, 2017, at Park Place in Belvidere. He was born January 18, 1942, in Belvidere, the son of Lawrence and Evelyn (Dummer) Hollembeak. Roger married Karen White on September 30, 1961 in Poplar Grove, IL.
As an adult, Roger worked on a farm in Rockford for two years, a few other factories, then several years at Ingersoll and White Sunstrand, and as a custodian at Rockford Toolcraft before retiring.
Roger accepted Christ as his Savior in 1960 as a teenager as a result of attending Youth for Christ rallies with Karen before their marriage in 1961. He had many good memories of those times. He also enjoyed activities with family and friends.
He was an active member of Faith Baptist Church in Belvidere and was dedicated to serving the Lord. His dedication to the Lord also included mowing and snow blowing the church property. His brother Gene, Pastor Weary, and several close friends were definite roll models for him.
Roger is loved and missed by his loving wife of 56 years; his daughter, Cathleen Paluzi; brother,
Eugene; grandchildren, Zachary Hanson, Lydia and Vincent Castillo, Savanah and Rachel, and Erin Bonner; great-grandchildren, Alisha, Zaiden, and Kailin; Alex, Lukas and Ellie; Malakye; Mckenleigh; numerous nieces and nephews; many friends; and church family.
He was predeceased by his daughter, Christine; a premature infant; his father, Lawrence; and his brother, Leroy.
The family would like to thank the staff who cared for him at Swedish American Hospital, Park Place Nursing Home in Belvidere, and Northern Illinois Hospice Association.
A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m., Tuesday, December 12, 2017, at Faith Baptist Church in Belvidere. Pastor Jeremy Weary will officiate.
