Roger Wayne Cummings, 93, of Rockford, IL, went to be with the Lord on June 15, 2024. He was born in Belvidere, IL., April 19, 1931, the son of Chester and Pauline (Dulgar) Cummings.

Roger graduated from Belvidere High School in 1949 and went on to serve in the United States Army in Korea between 1952-1954. On January 15, 1972, he married the love of his life, Barbara Jean (Pepper.) They shared 52 years of marriage. He farmed on his family farm and retired in 1991. The couple wintered in Green Valley, AZ, for 16 years. He was a deeply devoted husband, and a man of strong faith.

Roger served his country with honor and distinction, His dedication to service extended beyond the military to his lifelong work as a farmer, where he cultivated not only crops but also lasting friendships and a deep-rooted legacy of hard work and perseverance.

Roger was a lifetime member of Willow Creek Presbyterian Church of Argyle and he also attended Trinity Lutheran Church. He was also a member of the Skiffers Couples Group, the Winnebago- Boone County Farm Bureau, Roscoe Masonic Lodge, the Tebala Shrine, and the Belvidere VFW. He will be dearly missed.

Survived by his wife, Barbara Cummings; niece, Jennifer Cummings of Bellflower, CA, nephew, Jason Cummings of Flagstaff, AZ, and numerous dear friends who love him dearly.

He is predeceased by his parents, Chester and Pauline Cummings, and brother James Cummings.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Willow Creek Presbyterian Church of Argyle at 7300 Belvidere Road, Caledonia, IL 61011

Roger's funeral service will be Monday, June 24, 2024, at 11am at Willow Creek Presbyterian Church. Located at 7300 Belvidere Road, Caledonia, IL 61011.

Burial to follow at Scottish Cemetery of Argyle.
