Robin L. Downs, 49, of Poplar Grove, IL, passed away Saturday, January 18, 2015 in her home in Poplar Grove. Robin was born August 24, 1965 in Belvidere, IL, daughter of Robert "Pooch" and Dorothy (Mardell) McElroy. Robin married Michael J. Downs on June 9, 1984 in Belvidere, IL. She was a homemaker who loved caring for her family. Robin was a member of Blaine United Methodist Church. She enjoyed talking on the phone, cooking, and cleaning. Robin also liked to sew, cross stitch, read and watch soap operas. She had a true love of animals. Robin always said the first thing she would do in heaven was hold her granddaughter, Emma.

She is loved and will be missed by her husband, Michael of Poplar Grove; children, Anthony Downs of Poplar Grove, Angela (Dustin) Odom of Poplar Grove, Andrew (Brittany) Downs of Belvidere, Ashley (Jeff Hyder) of Charleston, Arkansas; grandchildren, Hannah, Michael, Ellie, Elizabeth "Half Pint"; numerous siblings; mother-in-law, Dorothy Downs of Poplar Grove. Robin is preceded in death by her parents; granddaughter, Emma; father-in-law, Gordon "Gordy" Downs.

Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 24, 2015 at Blaine United Methodist Church, 7200 Blaine Road, Poplar Grove, IL 61065, with Rev. Tom Hay officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the family.
