Roberta Horn, 69, of Cherry Valley, IL died peacefully Tuesday morning November 20, 2007 in her home surrounded by her loving family after a brave battle with cancer. She was born September 9, 1938 in Rockford, IL daughter of Vernon and Virginia (Gilman) Green. A 1956 East High School graduate, in 1957 she met and later married Frank Horn in December 22, 1961. They enjoyed 50 years together. Roberta loved to read and was the first employee as a librarian aide for the Cherry Valley Library. She enjoyed to crochet, sew, paint and sell their crafts at shows. She loved her cats and nature. Roberta loved to play her violin in church worship for many years. She was a devoted member of Byron Assembly of God Church and the Cherry Valley Historical Society.Survivors include husband, Frank; children, Rachel (Brian) Rawson, Sarah (Roger) Johansson, Joel (Nancy) Horn, Paul (Patricia) Horn and brother Milt (Carole) Green with nieces, cousins and blessed abundantly with 11 grandchildren; James, Rebekah, Stephen Rawson; Elin, Mitchel, Benjamin, Gabrielle, Christina Johansson; Sarah, Abby Horn and the youngest grandchild Andrew Horn.
