Roberta Daniels, 84, of Garden Prairie, IL passed away peacefully, Saturday evening, January 11, 2020 in her home after a lingering illness, surrounded by her loving family. She married Richard J. (RJ) Daniels on September 5, 1959 in Immanuel Lutheran Church, Belvidere, where she was a member and made her spiritual home; and to this union three children were born. Roberta was an inspiration to her family. No matter what life threw at her, Roberta remained positive, loving life and living it to the fullest. Roberta was a friendly and compassionate person. She loved hearing others stories, and never met a person that did not become a friend. It was not uncommon for others to be seated around the table, enjoying a fabulous meal she had prepared. She will be remembered for the love and devotion she showered on her family, her cooking abilities (with the exception of Jell-O) and the tasty apple pies with homemade crust to finish off any delicious meal. Roberta found time to chair the local chapter of the Arthritis Foundation, she was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, assisted RJ in the office and on the farm then later in life started a modeling career.Roberta is loved and will be missed by her; children, Angela J. (Yvonne Peterson) Daniels, Lisa J. (Jeff) Vance; daughter in-law, Sandy Daniels; grandchildren, Benjamin (Abby Meyers) Vance, Lucas (Jessica) Vance, Dana (Matt) Lloyd and family, Jason (Amanda) Wahl and family; great granddaughter, Blakely Ray Vance; chosen family, Marie and Allan Buss as well as her "four legged child", Skeeter . The family acknowledges the loving care, compassionate support and friendship given by her caregiver and friend, Cindy Roman; as well as the tender care and compassion given by Claudine and Becky from Heartland Hospice. Roberta is preceded in death by her parents; husband, RJ; son Judd Daniels; brother, Wayne (Florence) Wright, Jr; Sisters, Guinevere (Ted) Anderson and Barbara (Bob) Reimann.The visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Friday, January 17, 2020 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 1045 Belvidere Road, Belvidere, IL. The funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, January 18, 2020 at Immanuel Lutheran Church. Burial will be at Lawrenceville Cemetery.
