Robert G. Wilson, Sr. 75, of Belvidere, IL passed away peacefully December 28, 2015 in Swedish American Hospital, Belvidere after a short illness.  Bob was born May 24, 1940 in Tichnor, Arkansas the son of Robert and Estelee (Wyeth) Wilson.  He married Kay Loveridge on February 14, 1986 in Belvidere.  He attended schools in Arkansas and Tennessee.  He graduated from high school in Colorado and studied tech. electronics after graduation.  Bob retired from Chrysler in 2000 after 34 years of service.  He attended Poplar Grove United Methodist Church; enjoyed hunting, fishing and was a #1 Packer Fan.  Bob also loved to travel, play cards and was an avid reader.  Bob was a member of the Coon Creek Casters, Moose Lodge and the UAW 1268.  Bob loved to travel and spent his winters in Punta Gorda, FL.  He was a proud member of Friends of Bill W. and dedicated to helping himself as well as many others to overcome their addictions.  He was one of the original organizers of the volunteer Boone County Ambulance and Rescue Squad, and served as a medical technician for 2 years.  Bob served as a Trustee and Chief Union Steward for UAW 1268 for 12 ½ years.  He was a commercial fisherman in his younger years and was a great outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish.  Bob was a loving husband, father, father in-law and grandfather.  He had a great sense of humor, was good natured and had a strong willpower – often telling you exactly what his opinion was!  He will be profoundly missed.

Bob is loved and will be missed by his wife, Kay; children, Robert G. Jr. (Corri), Vicki (Dave) Rand, Mike (Danice) Loveridge, Jeff (Carol) Loveridge, Son in-law, Dennis Meyers; brother and sister; Buster and Janet; grandchildren, Steven, Kristina, Erik, Jacob, Abby, Matt, Hayley, Elise, Randy, Racheal, Brandon; nine great-grandchildren; sister in-law, Sherry Webber.  Bob is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Tammy Meyers; brothers, R.J, Walter, Willie, Otto, Billy and "Poncho"; sisters, "Pee-Wee" and Muriel.

Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m., to 11:00 a.m., Thursday, December 31, 2015 in Anderson Funeral and Cremation Services at Buck-Wheeler-Hyland Chapel, 218 W Hurlbut Ave., Belvidere with funeral services held at 11:00 a.m. with Rev.
