Belvidere, IllinoisRobert A. Wilson, 77, of Belvidere, IL always sang "If there are sweethearts in Heaven, then I want you for mine" to his wife Anna. On her birth date Robert joined his beloved wife in heaven, Thursday morning February 16, 2006 in his home surrounded by his loving family. Robert was born September 26, 1928 in Newport, Tennessee the son of Charles and Elizabeth (Strange) Wilson. He married Anna M. Harrison on December 26, 1952 in Newport, Tennessee. Robert was a supervisor for Central Rubber retiring in 1970. After his retirement, Robert found great joy in working in his wood shop, where he made beautiful furniture. He taught his children and grandchildren how to fish and loved teaching the Winsome Sunday school Class. Robert is a veteran of the Korean War, having served in the US army and was a devoted member of Calvary Baptist Church.Survivors include his children, Cheri (Marv) Cramer of Buchanan, MI, Brenda Looper of Belvidere; grandchildren, Sarah, Melissa, Jay, Becky and Brandon; great-grandchildren Justin Brandi and Bryce; brothers Ed, Gene and Bill Wilson all of Belvidere. Robert is predeceased by his wife, Anna; father, Charles Wilson; mother Elizabeth "Granny" Black; step-father, W.E. Black; grandson Travis Looper; brother, Charles Wilson and sister, Ann Tucker.
