Robert Lloyd Trapp, 88, of Belvidere IL, passed away Wednesday March 4, 2015 in Rockford IL. He was born November 1, 1926 in Chicago IL, born to Elizabeth (Claus) Lage and Leon Trapp . He married Jeanne on November 16, 1960 in Pine City Minnesota. Robert worked for and retired from the Sheet Metal Workers Local 219. He attended First United Methodist Church in Belvidere IL. Robert was a member of the VFW, American Legion and is a proud Boone County Democrat. Robert proudly served our country with the US Navy in World War II- Pacific Theater and in the Korean War.

He is survived by Robert F. (Barbara) Trapp, Susan (David II) Meyer, Sally Ashens, Shelia Trapp, Judy (Don) Griffin and very special friend Norma Kint. Robert will be missed by his grandchildren Benjamin Trapp, Bernie Trapp, Barrett (Sandra) Trapp, Ryann (Alex Ariano) Meyer, Andrew Meyer, Katelynn (Maxwell Nank) Ashens, Maegen Ashens, Lauren Portwine, Kaemon Portwine, Sally (Mike) Jacobs, Cory (Rebecca) Griffin, Patrick Griffin; great grandchildren, Wyatt Griffin, Zachary Jacobs, Alex Jacobs, Katie Griffin, Sara Griffin, Tanner Griffin, Jacob Griffin, special great grandchildren Gino-Max and Haileyanna, and many nieces and nephews.

Robert is predeceased in death by his parents; wife, Jeanne; son, Stephen E. Trapp; former wife, Arlene Nashold; siblings, William Trapp, Bette Hogan, Anna Mae Aurand.

Funeral Services will be held at 10 A.M., Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at Anderson Funeral and Cremation Services, 218 West Hurlbut Ave, Belvidere, IL with Rev. Amy Poust officiating. Visitation will be held from 5-7 P.M., Monday, March 9, 2015 at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Belvidere Cemetery.
