Robert D. Leonard, 71, of Poplar Grove, died peacefully, March 17, 2014 at Swedish American Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Robert was born May 5, 1942 in Chicago, son of Robert J. and Lorraine (Lowe) Leonard. Robert married Camille Palmi on September 15, 1963. He worked for Butternut Bread, Dominick's Finer Foods in the warehouse for 17 years and Keson Industries. Robert was also a volunteer firefighter for Hanover Park Fire Department. He enjoyed going to the Riverboat casino, playing the scratch off lottery, NASCAR, watching T.V., an avid bowler and especially doting on his wife, Camille.

Robert is loved and will be missed by his wife, Camille; daughters, Kim (Joe) Infelise of Poplar Grove, IL, Roberta (Matt Cook) Fuery of Schaumberg, IL and Christi (Ed) Wilson of Poplar Grove, IL; brother, Kenneth (Karen) Leonard; grandchildren, Anthony, Dominique, Alex, Samantha, Eddie, Tori, Luke and Trinity; great-grandson, Julian; brother-in-law, Rocky (Theresa) Palmi of Roselle, IL; and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents.

Memorial Service will be held at 8:00 PM, Friday, March 21, 2014 at Anderson Funeral and Cremation Services, Buck-Wheeler-Hyland Chapel, 218 W. Hurlbut Ave, Belvidere, IL with Rev. Dan Schenck officiating. Memorial visitation will be held from 3:00 pm until the time of service. Memorials may be given to the family for a fund to be established at a later date.
