Robert Johnson, born August 12, 1962, in Belvidere, Illinois, passed away peacefully on May 11, 2025, at the age of 62. He was the beloved son of Norma (Shook) Johnson and the late Guy Johnson.

A proud graduate of Belvidere High School, Robert was a standout athlete, serving as the #1 pitcher on the baseball team, as well as playing basketball. Following high school, Robert proudly served his country in the United States Army, receiving his honorable discharge in 1986.

After his military service, Robert worked for many years at Android Industries in Belvidere, helping supply parts to Chrysler.

Robert enjoyed the simple pleasures of life—coaching baseball for BYB, fishing, playing cards, trivia nights, and board games—but nothing brought him more joy than time spent with his family. He was a devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, and his love for his family was evident in everything he did.

He is survived by his sons, Danny and Sean; his mother, Norma Johnson; his brother, Donald (Colleen) Johnson; his sister, Lisa (Gary) Rangel; his cherished grandchildren, Ryne, Brook, Kylie, Zoe, Shyanne; and his great-grandchild, Addelyn. He is also remembered fondly by numerous nieces and nephews.

Robert is preceded in death by his daughter, Melissa Johnson; his son, Eric Johnson; and his father, Guy Johnson.

He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.

A visitation for Robert will be held on Friday, May 16, 2025 at 9:30am, at Anderson Funeral and Cremation Services, located at 218 W. Hurlbut Ave, Belvidere, IL 61008. Funeral service will be held at 10am, with burial to follow at Highland Garden of Memories.
