Robert W. Hill, 79, of Belvidere, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at Northwoods Care Center after a lingering illness. He was born September 3, 1938 in Ontonogon, MI, son of Alfred and Jennie Hill. Bob graduated from high school and went on to serve in the United States Navy for 2 years. He married Helen Effler on March 12, 1977 in Belvidere. Bob worked in the Tool and Die trade. He was a former member of Saint John's United Church of Christ. Bob was a member of the American Legion and the VFW. He loved fishing and playing cards.

Robert is loved and missed by his wife, Helen; children, Belinda (Loren) Chizek, and Jolyne Chapman; step-son, Michael Effler; 6 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild, and one on the way; siblings, Joyce, Clarice, Clyde, Bertha, Carol, and Ernie; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, infant sons, Dane and Raymond Hill, son, Wayne Hill, sister, Signe and brother, William and infant brother, Donald.
