Robert Charles Heim, 77, of Poplar Grove, IL, passed away on November 11, 2024. Born on November 5, 1947, in Dubuque, Iowa, he was the son of Rose Ellen (Wolford) and Frank Wesley Heim. Robert grew up on the family farm as the fourth of twelve children.

On May 29, 1971, Robert married the love of his life, Phyllis. Together, they shared 53 years of marriage and raised three sons.

A proud veteran, Robert served faithfully in the United States Army. After his service, he worked for nearly 30 years at Chrysler in Belvidere. Alongside his wife, he also ran a successful mowing business.

Robert was a man of many talents and passions. He loved to sing and was known for his karaoke performances, with Johnny Cash being his favorite artist. Robert was also a gifted poet and an excellent cook.

Above all, Robert cherished time spent with friends and family. Whether hosting gatherings or simply spending time in the garage, he valued the company of his loved ones. A longtime member of the Good Times Car Club, Robert received numerous awards and trophies for his antique cars, a testament to his love for craftsmanship and attention to detail.

Known for his kindness, humor, and warm nature, Robert had a way of brightening any room with his jokes and infectious smile. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Heim, their children, Christopher (Kris) Heim, Charles (Patty Witt) Heim, and Timothy Heim; grandchildren, Heather Heim, Charlee (Claudio) Webber, and Zander Heim; 11 siblings, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family whom he loved dearly.

Predeceased by his parents.

Robert's funeral service will be Saturday, November 23rd at 12pm at Anderson Funeral Home located at 218 W. Hurlbut Ave. Belvidere, IL 61008. Burial at Highland Garden of Memories to follow.
