Robert E. Freitag age 80 of Poplar Grove and former resident of Elk Grove Village entered into heaven with his loving family by his side. Robert was born December 17, 1926 the son of William and Hulda D. (Zoellick) Freitag. Robert graduated from Lane Technical High School in Chicago, and later married the love of his life Barbara (Edwards) Freitag. Robert served his country in the army during WWII, and was stationed in Italy. He later worked as a machinist for Roto/WF Hall Printing Company for over 30 years. Robert had a passion for woodworking and was very skilled at making children's furniture. He was a war buff and had an extensive knowledge on the Civil War. Robert will be dearly missed by his loving family and all who knew him. Robert is survived by his loving wife Barbara Freitag, loving children; Daniel Freitag, Lynn K. Freitag, Jacqueline M. Lowe, Kenneth C. (Adrienne) Yanko, Robert W. (Candace) Freitag, and Sarah J. (John) Wesa; 11 cherished grandchildren; 6 adoring great grandchildren; sister Laverne Kruzich, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother William Freitag, and sister Lorna Tagge. The family would like to specially thank the staff of Rosewood Care Center for the care given to Robert.
