Robert E. Fitch, 87, of Belvidere, died Saturday, February 3, 2007 in his home following a sudden illness. He was born May 24, 1919 in Harvard, Illinois, the son of Edward and Beulah (Layman) Fitch. Robert married Florence B. Nimtz in Belvidere on June 8, 1940. He was a farmer all of his life. He was a former member of the Pure Milk Association. Robert is survived by his wife, Florence; Daughter, Florence (Chuck) Klinefelter and son, John Fitch, all of Belvidere; four grandchildren, "Buddy": Roberta; Robert (Tina) and Bernard (Laurie) Klinefelter; seven great-grandchildren, Nichole and Leah Beasley; and Katie; Robert; Sam; Cody and Nathan Klinefelter; three great-great-grandchildren, Jillianne and Isabelle Cummings and Leila Rhymes. Robert is preceded in death by his parents, a sister Isabelle Fitch and two brothers John and Walter Fitch.
