Robert A. Fidder, 71, of Belvidere, died Monday, February 20, 2012 in Swedish-American Medical Center Emergency Room following a short illness. He was born on September 8, 1940 in Belvidere, Illinois; the son of Elmer W. and Viona M. (Schwebke) Fidder. Bob is a graduate of Marengo High School. He married Joan R. Mosher in DeKalb, Illinois on February 13, 1960. Bob was employed as a Farm Shop Mechanic for 30 years at Green Giant and 7 years at Seneca Foods before retiring in 2001. He was a board member of the Boone County Fair; a 57 year Grange member of the Flora, Boone County Pomona Granges; the Illinois State Grange Association and the National Grange Association; a past member of the Belvidere Jay-Cees; and a member of the Belvidere Moose Lodge #295 where he held a Fellowship Degree and served as Governor for 5 years as well as in the Legion of the Moose. Bob is survived by his wife, Joan, of Belvidere; five children, Allen Fidder, Sharon Fidder, both of Belvidere; Susan (Mike) McGill, of Poplar Grove, Illinois; Andy (Sandy) Fidder, of Crystal Lake, Illinois and Aaron (Marie) Fidder of Grand Chute, Wisconsin; ten grandchildren, Richard McGill, Jacqueline Fidder, Kenneth Fidder, Tara (Marc) Felix, Robert Fidder, Ashley Fidder, Rebecca Fidder, Jamie Fidder, Robert "Bobby" Fidder and Matthew Fidder; a great-grandson, Conner Bergman; his dog and best friend, Millie; Grandma, Rose, and two sisters, Shirley (Bob) Nordman and Diana (Richard) Thiede. He was preceded in death by his parents.
