Belvidere, ILRobert D. "Bob" Swanson 72 of Belvidere, Il died Sunday afternoon, July 10, 2011 from injuries recieved in an automobile accident. Bob was born October 11, 1938 in Ottawa, IL the son of Philip and Viola (Doble) Swanson. He married Eleanor Collier on July 12, 1958 in Chemung, IL. Bob was a machinist for Sundstrand, White Sundstrand and Pacific Scientific until his retirement. He was a member of the American Legion Boone Post 77, Countyline Grange, a volunteer for Salvation Army. He enjoyed his Vintage Tractor and Engine Association as well as fishing. He is loved and will be missed by his wife, Eleanor; children, Barbara (Steven) Bowers of Rockford, Judy Gagliano of Belvidere, Susan Foltz of Belvidere, Steven (Tracey) Swanson of Belvidere and Stanley Swanson of Belvidere; brother, Marvin (Rachel) Swanson of North Carolina; nine Grandchildren; one Great Grandchild. Bob is predeceased by his parents; brother, Rodney and sister, Donna Engelson.
