Robert Charles Bruce, 69, of Belvidere, IL, passed away peacefully on August 11, 2025. Born on October 22, 1955, he was the beloved son of Roberta "Luella" (Hawkey) and Russell Charles Bruce. A lifelong resident of Belvidere, Bob graduated from Belvidere High School.

Bob was a man known for his strong work ethic, loyalty, and deep devotion to his family. He worked for many years as a sanitation engineer with Belvidere Disposal.

Outside of work, Bob had a passion for antique cars. He enjoyed working on them in his spare time and often spent weekends at the drag races in Byron or cheering on participants at local demolition derbies. Bob was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs and the Chicago Bears.

Above all, Bob was a cherished father and grandfather. His love for his family was unwavering, and he leaves behind a legacy of strength and dedication. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Robert is survived by his daughters, Briana (Michael) Pfaus and Stefanie (Ryan) Bressler; long-time companion, Lisa Cole; grandchildren, Isabelle Bruce, Elijah Skaggs, and Oliver Bressler; his beloved pet, Meister; nephew, Brian Finnestad, niece, Angela Dickmann; as well as numerous extended family and friends he loved dearly.

He is welcomed into heaven by his parents, Luella and Russell Bruce, sister, Valerie Finnestad, and beloved German Shephard, Jaeger.

Bob's visitation will be Saturday, August 16th between the hours of 10-12pm at Anderson Funeral Home. Funeral service to follow at 12pm with burial at Flora Cemetery.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to OSF Hospice, especially nurses Lisa Casey and Theresa Bingenheimer, as well as Dr. Korkmaz and Dr. Ahmed, for the compassionate care and support they provided.
