Belvidere, ILRobert J. Borsberry, 98, of Belvidere, IL died peacefully, Friday August 24, 2012 in his home. Robert was born January 4, 1914 in rural Boone County, IL the son of John S. and Anna (McKeown) Borsberry. He married Darlene R. Fowler on August 18, 1945 at the Davis United Methodist Church in Herbert, IL. Robert was a lifelong farmer and a member of the Pure Milk Association and Oak Glen Grange. He was a member of the Davis United Methodist Church in Herbert and served breakfast at the Boone Co. Fair for many years. In his spare time, Robert enjoyed golf, dancing with Darlene, playing pinochle, and was an avid bowler.Robert is loved and will be missed by his wife Darlene of Belvidere; daughters Barbara Borsberry of Belvidere, Charlene Oftedahl of Almena, WI; grandsons Thomas (Lori) Oftedahl of Rochester, MN and Michael Oftedahl of Forest Lake, MN; great grandsons Maxwell and Finnegan. Robert is predeceased by his parents; sister Mary McLain and son-in law Larry L. Oftedahl.

In lieu of flowers, Memorials can be given to Belvidere Keenage Center, Passages Hospice or Davis United Methodist Church of Herbert in his memory.
