Robert W. Bodey, 86, of Belvidere, IL died Thursday evening, November 29, 2007 in OSF St. Anthony Medical Center after a short illness. Robert was born June 19, 1921 in Belvidere the son of Fred and Bertha Bodey. Robert was stationed in Hawaii during WWII as a truck driver in the US Army. He married Katherine Footh on November 17, 1951 in Belvidere. Robert was the Superintendent of Streets for the City of Belvidere prior to his retirement. He enjoyed spending time with his family, tending to his gardens, cutting wood and was an avid collector.Survivors include his wife, Katherine, children, Brenda (Paul) Falk of Poplar Grove, Rusty (Jill) Bodey of Poplar Grove, Kevin Bodey of Belvidere; grandchildren, Amber, Justin and Nathan Bodey, Grace and Jacob Bodey, Darren (Ramona) Lanning, Josh (Sarah) Falk, Jarrod Falk; brothers, Donald Bodey, Keith (Phyllis) Bodey, Kenny (Judy) Bodey.Robert is predeceased by his parents, brother, Raymond and step-son Terry Norton.

In lieu of flowers, Robert would have preferred memorials to Helping Hands in his memory.
