Robert G.
"Bob" Wulff
Jun 18, 1947 — Oct 1, 2018
Robert (Bob) G. Wulff, 71, of Belvidere, IL passed away Monday night, October 1, 2018. Bob was born June 18, 1947 in Ontarioville, IL - the son of Carlyle and Ethel Wulff. He was a graduate of the Chicago Academy of the Fine Arts with a degree in Illustration. His career included art instruction, art direction/graphic design for Lakeland Publishers, small business management for Wulff Manufacturing, and 'retail therapy' with a sales position at Pier One.
Bob was a staff sergeant E6 Army veteran of the Vietnam War stationed at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. Bob's artistic talent was recognized by his Captain when he was asked to hand create award certificates for soldiers. His General, of the Second Brigade "Saints," was so impressed with Bob's artistic prowess that he assigned him as his Staff Artist. Bob enjoyed oil painting still lifes and traditional portraits onto canvas backgrounds. Gardening was another passion. He had a green thumb and loved to garden. He took pride in knowing every plant and tree by name. Bob was also a fan of traveling, especially to California or Florida to visit his brother and niece. He wouldn't miss his annual visits for the world. A natural social butterfly, everyone gravitated towards him. He had a way of making every person feel special when he spoke to them. He was a gentle soul with a tender heart, selfless, fun to be around and he truly cherished people and friendships. Enjoying a cup of coffee and a conversation with a friend truly made him happy. Bob was a man who was not only an artist with paints on canvas but also on the canvas of life.
Bob's passing brought such sadness for all who knew him. He lost his fight with lung cancer/lung disease. While we lost a treasured family member and cherished friend - one who wasn't yet finished living, Bob's health crises will no longer plague him. The sky now shines brighter with a healthy Uncle Bob in it.
Bob was loved and will be missed by his brother, Carlyle Jr. (Ruth) Wulff; sister, Carole Mulligan; nephew Don (Melinda); niece, Kathy (Jim) McCausey; nephew, Jeff (Leslie) Wulff and Brian (Jackie) Ehorn; great-nephews, Chris, Brad, and Jeffrey; great-nieces, Mallory and Brittany. Bob was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Jack and nephew, Robert Scheel.
Bob's Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 8, 2018 at Anderson Funeral and Cremation Services, 218 W. Hurlbut Ave. Belvidere, IL 61008. A closed casket visitation will be at 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be at Ringwood Cemetery in Ringwood, IL.
