Robert D. "Bob" Hyser, 87, of Belvidere, IL, passed away peacefully, Monday, October 23, 2017 at Northwoods Care Centre after a short illness. Bob was born November 6, 1929 in Belvidere, IL, the son of Donald "Si" and Thelma (Hart) Hyser. He married the love of his life, Jean Vail on November 15, 1957 in Belvidere. Bob was employed by Chrysler for over 25 years. He made his spiritual home at Garden Prairie United Church of Christ. Bob was a member of the UAW, and a past member of the Woodstock Moose Club. He was a very hard working man, whose life centered around his family. Bob loved tinkering and putzing around.

Bob is loved and missed by his loving wife, Jean; sons, Larry (Jeanette) Hyser, Gary (Pam) Hyser, Tim (Donna) Hyser, Thomas (Kari) Hyser, and Rob (Angela) Hyser; 16 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, brothers, Gerald (Loretta) Hyser, and Wayne Hyser, sister-in-laws, Lois Hyser, and June (LeRoy) Wikoff, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents,  son, Craig Hyser,daughter, Penny Lynne Hyser, grandson, Kevin Bender, his twin brother, and brother, Sam Hyser.

A special thank you to Dr. Michael Mark, Amy of OSF Palliative Care, Cindy of OSF Hospice and all of the other caregivers that showed love and compassion to Bob during his care.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 28, 2017 at Anderson Funeral and Cremation Services, 218 W. Hurlbut Ave, Belvidere, IL 61008. A visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. until 1:45 p.m., prior to the service. Burial in Garden Prairie Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Vets Roll or OSF Hospice.
