IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Robert "Bob"
Anthony Erickson
February 26, 1945 – November 26, 2024
Robert "Bob" Erickson, 79, of Belvidere, IL, went to be with the Lord on November 26, 2024. He was born on February 26, 1945, in Chicago. A man of faith, Bob embraced life's blessings with gratitude and joy. His life was marked by service, love, and dedication to those around him.
Bob proudly served in the United States Army and later embarked on a successful career in trucking, where his attention to detail and intelligence were valued. Outside of his professional life, he had a passion for crafting pens, detailing cars, and spending time outdoors. Bob found peace and satisfaction in mowing the lawn and going fishing, always appreciating the beauty of nature. He was also an avid Chicago Cubs baseball fan.
On July 7, 1991, Bob married Terri (Nelson), and together they enjoyed many years of travel, playing cards, and creating lasting memories with friends and family. Bob's love for animals was well known, and his loyal companions, a dog named "Chuck" or cat named "Luke" were always by his side.
Above all, Bob was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. His warm heart, humor, and unwavering love will be missed by all who knew him.
Bob is survived by his loving wife, Terri, his children, Gina (Curt) Carlton; Brian (Lisa) Key, Rachel (Jason) Key, Marc (Dawn) Canzoneri, and Mellissa Grimm; sister, Fran Richter; grandchildren, Bailey, Mya, Allyssa, Austin, Mackenzie, Lauren, Kaylee, Keyara, Mallory, Hannah, and Tyler; great-grandchildren, Sophia and Elijah. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family whom he loved dearly.
He is predeceased by his parents.
Bob's visitation will be Wednesday, December 4th at 10am at St. Rita's Catholic Church. Located at 6254 Valley Knoll Dr, Rockford, IL 61109. Funeral Mass to follow at 11am. In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Bob can be made to the American Cancer Society or the Alzheimer's Association.
