Machesney Park

Richard G. Van Landschoot, 74, of Machesney Park, IL died July 12, 2018 at 9:21 p.m. at Highview in the Woodlands in Rockton, IL. He was born August 9,1943 in Kewanee, IL to Gerard and Louise (Head) Van Landschoot.

After high school he attended barber school and set up his trade business as Sir Richards Family Hair Care. There he worked alongside his wife, Patricia, for 38 years whom he remained married to for 53 years. Richard proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and later found his spiritual home at Immanuel Lutheran Church. Richard enjoyed woodworking, fishing, photography, hunting and his brittany spaniel dogs.

Richard is survived by his wife Patricia; daughters Monica (Scott) James and Tamara (Darren) Huys; sisters Patricia (Ken) Butler-Barnes and Debra (Rich) Day; grandchildren Nicholas (Mariana Offik) James, Alyssa James, Calvin Huys, Calista Huys, and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents and brother Phillip.

Funeral service will take place at 2:00 p.m., Monday July 16, 2018 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 1045 E. Belvidere St., Belvidere, IL 61008 with Pastor Keith Richard officiating. A visitation will take place from 4:00 p.m. till 7:00 p.m., Sunday July 15, 2018 at Anderson Funeral and Cremation Services, 218 W. Hurlbut Ave. Belvidere, IL. Burial in Scottish Argyle Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be given in Richard's name to Comfort Dogs Ministries in care of Immanuel Lutheran Church, 1225 E 2nd St, Belvidere, IL 61008.
